Procedures
Craniotomy – The surgical removal of a section of bone from the skull to relieve pressure and decrease intracranial pressure
Steriotactic Biopsy – A minimally invasive form of surgical intervention which makes use of a three-dimensional coordinate system and a biopsy needle to locate small tissue samples within the brain that has the potential for existing tumor or infection.
Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt – A surgical procedure that is performed to relieve intracranial pressure that is caused by the buildup of fluid on the brain. The fluid is shunted from the ventricles of the brain into the abdominal cavity away from the brain.
